I'm lost. Did they put a head gasket on and then it leaked coolant and oil onto your garage floor? When you put cleavage and coolant in the same sentence I get confused.

Head gasket failures are not common. There are few engine of any make I have not seen a failure with at some point. You always see a few failures on all of them. My buddy has made a good living on Civic gasket failures.

We have seen a couple here but very few gasket failures on the 2.0.

You are under warranty and they will fix it.

They replaced the headgasket and then it overflowed from the coolant resivoir, I guess they didn't do enough heat cycles. I'm also noticing oil leaking on the garage floor, probably from removing the oil pan to check for coolant leaks between cyl #2 and #3 after the gasket replacement per the tech help line. Good thing I bought extended warranty, I have a feeling that's going to pay for itself.

Sorry you are having engine issues. Just an FYI that others keep trying to tell you above is that we have 100,000 mile 6year powertrain warranties. This means you are covered by GM themselves still. Also since the dealership did the work they HAVE to fix it for you anyways if it is directly their fault. But either way they will just bill it to GM so you have nothing to worry about. And I keep reading of new engines so feel lucky cause you will probably get one.

So I am assuming that the hhr ss is not as reliable as the 2.2 or 2.4?

First off you may have some air in the system. The HHR is a little more difficult to bleed the air out of the system and some people and even tech don't always do that right. If your temp is good I suspect air in the system.

As for Oil I would have to see what you have to make the best call but after having an engine appart it is common for some oil drips. They can wipe it all down and you will still get some oil drips.

At this point I would not get in too much of a panic yet.

Not really any more or less than the other the other engines. To be honest I see more issues with them but percentage wise they all seem about the same even with the added turbo parts.

The Eco is as durable 4 cylinder out there. I see many more issues with other 4 cylinders.

There never has been a perfect engine but the Eco does really well on the whole and the 2.0 is no worse.
