Amen to that! GM Weatherpak connectors are water resistant, not waterproof, force moisture into places it shouldn't be and Heaven help you.

I could yank the engine and change it to a modern one piece seal, but that thing has been dripping like that for 3/4 of a century now, got to let it have some fun.
Yes it is the oil leaked out while they had it appart. Todays engines have so many places oil can get if you remove parts or spill oil it can drip for several weeks.

MY GTP oil filter when removed drains a little on the cross member and even with me wiping it down it will leave drops on the floor for 3 weeks.

I even had the funnel slip on the HHR and it dripped for a week even after I had cleaned everything I could spot.

If you have ever had any of the new engines appart you would know well about drips.

I understand dripping from spilled oil during a change, but leaks are a different matter. If you've looked at any possible spots where they could have spilled oil and that's not the source, then you start to suspect leakage due to assembly errors or incorrect torquing down of things like the valve cover.

Don't know about you sleeper, but I've done more engines than I can accurately remember, probably been over 200. Don't forget I'm a guy who grew up around the race track, in a town that gave the world Dale Earnhardt, engines I know.
