Found on this techlink
http://www.sandyblogs.com/cgi-bin/mt...gs=10&limit=20

for that code
P0236 code set -- (1) Only one sensor was replaced (on HHR SS, the TMAP on the inlet duct is difficult to access). (2) TMAP on inlet duct wired wrong (terminal 1 mistaken for terminal 4).
Possible?

I also need to find out if they soldiered the the crimp on pins or the harness splice connectors.

This from the link sums up what trouble some have

"The low power condition may result from the front lower TMAP sensor (on the charge air cooler pipe) wiring rubbing and chafing against the A/C compressor or line.

A poorly sealed or improperly installed heat sealed splice sleeve on the TMAP sensor wiring also may cause this condition. Any corrosion inside the splice sleeve or at the connector may lead to an intermittent or high resistance connection and the potential for a low power condition."

These two things account for most of the issues and the first one is the hardest to find if you don't know what to look for. They are not close unless you are on the gas.

They soldiered everything on the TMAP upper & lower sensors. Per the service manager.

These are this weeks questions...

Why no boost in neutral?

Connection of this problem and recently replaced vss or related somehow in trans vs gear indicator??

Mechanical (spring) waste gate or electronic servo?

Possible waste actuator issue?

Boost bypass sensor?

Facts:
No Different in comp, tc off, or esc off modes
gear indicator is working fine 1-5

Also, finally dealer has a line into somebody in the DI 4 cylinder dept of gmtech and maybe somebody in the engineering of the upgrade kit.

I have also contacted GM Customer Service and waiting for a District Specialist to contact me.

Yes in Neutral and or Park you will not get boost or very little. Same on the road to why you get more boost than other times. Just because the pedal is down you will not always see max boost at all times.

Loads, speeds and RPM can have different effects to how much boost you see at a specific time.

Also while some really think Comp Mode effects boost I have yet to see any real difference. I get the full boot with it on or off under similar conditions. For the most it is more a traction control issue. On the 5 sp you also get the no lift shift feature where it will keep the boost up during the shift but does not make it go higher.

GM never really has explained the full effects of Comp Mode and even less with the Automatic. I think we all have the main ideas of what it can and is doing but it would be nice to know the details.

LOL! we have had to talk too many from doing neutral drops here with the Automative because they think Comp Mode will protect the tranny. It has been a whiles since I have see someone wanting to do that one thank God!

I learned about neutral drops the hard way...sheared an input shaft on a '68 Javalin showing off in a parking lot, had "J" bars on too otherwise it would have just spun.Oh the younger days..........
