It's true LSD for auto
ZZP turboed a auto 2.4 cobalt and only burnt the clutch packs at 360 fwhp. Nothing with damage to the axles, case, or hard internal parts This was after numerious track runs and about a year on the street. I forgot to ask what type of torque numbers they were putting out but I will guess it makes more low end torque than an LNF would at the similar power level. My plan is when I get the bigger snail, I will have extra cash for a rebuild of the transmission on hand in case I need it. It'd be nice to have a limited slip to go with all that "planned" power I want.

SS LSD Exploded Diagram
I have the 2010 HHRss with the manual transmission. Note that there are two manual transmissions, one for the SS and one for the non SS. The differential for the non SS is rebuildable, the one for the SS is replaced as a unit. The attached exploded parts diagram shows the clutch plates for the LSD. A small amount of slip is allowed and then the LSD will lock up the two drive wheels. I got this from the dealer parts guy. I gave him my VIN and he printed out the attached. This is my first attempt at attaching something, so I hope the diagram shows up !
