It will help at BOTH times you are stating, as it is always controlling the movement of the engine so much better.

Didnt see it posted here or in the instructions, how are you guys supporting the engine while changing out the mount? Just a jack under the oil pan, with maybe a piece of wood to prevent damage? I wouldnt want to crack/dent the oil pan or compress the gasket and cause a leak.

yeah..something softer then the pan on a jack works fine...actually needed to shift around when installing as it helps get the bolts aligned..

Thanks, do you happen to know the torque specs for the bolts and nuts?

hmm.. mine just says refer to manufacturer.

I dont have a manual in front of me, I will search around and see if I can locate them. Otherwise you could call a local GM dealer and ask :)

Found it. Engine mount to body side rail nuts: 74 lb ft, engine mount to engine bracket bolts: 37 lb ft
