Unhappy Need help no boost

Ok I really need so help here is some background

I have a 2008 HHR SS with 41K miles. Automatic transmission. Engine Mods include the GMTU(about 5 months ago) with the plug and play harness, a forge BPV. TTR motor mount. And a K&N filter.

Ok now the problem: 2 days ago I was driving to work. Aftr about 4 miles I stopped at a traffic light (up until now everything is working fine). Light turns green and I start to go and notice my car is struggling to accerlate. 0 boost, I couldn't pass 45mph even with the pedal to the floor. No warning lights or odd sounds. Drove it like that for about another 8miles until I got to my parents to drop it off, well about 2 blocks away from my parents out of the blue I get boost again. Either way it's been at my parents ever since. Today I took apart the air intake and removed the air box and check out the pipes and all that. So far everything looks fine. The air flow sensor looks brand new. No oil on it or anything. I also check both sensors for the turbo upgrade and both also look perfect. I don't see any holes in the pipes either. Tomorrow I'm gonna check the BPV, but if that looks good then what else could it be? What should be my next course of action? I have a extended warranty until 2016 but I know how dealerships are and they are not gonna do a thing unless the car isn't working when it gets there or there is some sort of trouble code or check engine light on which didn't pop up so....any ideas? I appreciate any help.

Sounds like limp mode. Mine does it every once in a while. But I usually restart my car before it goes away on its own.

Do you have a k & n still? Mine seems to set off limp mode

EDIT: I see you have K&N. seems to be a common problem, unless tuned for it. I am seriously considering going back to a paper filter

You don't need tuned for the K&N intake system?
The intake helps make the stock tune even better
Stock LTFTs = +5 to +8
Add K&N intake system LTFTs = 0 to +3
It's a 2 for 1 deal.
An intake system that removes the restriction of the stock HHR SS + small tune.

OPPS you just have the filter, no way in hell do you need tuned for a filter change...

Im not try to start an argument..... but more than a few people on this forum have had problems with any changes to the stock intake setup. including just taking the lid off....

I am not saying its your problem, but I am saying its a good place to start.

I can tell you exactly what happens to me...

I'll be driving along and all of the sudden, no boost above like 2-3 psi. so I put the car in neutral, shut it off and restart it. sometimes this fixes it, other times, within ten minutes or so I'll get a check engine light. I read the code with my programmer and its P0101 every time. "Mass airflow circ/volume" or something it reads. I clear the code and usually I wont see the code again for a few days.

I know its got to be the filter. as I have had problems ever since removing my filthy paper filter. I have cleaned the MAF sensor multiple times(usually dry anyhow). there are multiple threads on the issues people have had, and the tuner guys all say the same thing. get tuned for it and it goes away/

I hope this helps

I can't think of anything to change in the HHR SS tune ???
It's just a filter, it will make the LTFTs better, which is a good thing.

I know that the Balt guys have a screwed up intake system, & any change needs tuned for.
The HHR SS intake system is way different & better.
My MAF tables are the bone stock settings in the tune, this is where the Balt guys have to adjust.

No adjustments needed on an HHR SS , if your changing to the K&N intake system, or just the K&N filter.

I have put a K&N on every vehicle I have owned(including my old 2.4l lt), never had a problem except the SS.

here is my original post/problem..I started with a custom short ram and gave up
