New HHR SS OWNER NEEDS HELP
Well. I had a tech look at my car to help me today and said my fuel pump on the front of the car is bad. We can smell gas in my engine from oil cap and he said fuel is bypassing into engine and causing it to run rich. So ordered fuel pump and seals and lower high pressure fuel line. Hopefully this solves my issue and someone else can benefit from all of this.

Sorry, just noticed you posted yesterday. The LTFT is that at idle or while driving around? Also what does the STFT do during hard acceleration? Mine currently calls for a rich condition at idle, but when accelerating, calls for a lean condition. I do have fuel in my oil, similar to you but being caused by the car running rich consistently, which I only found out after replacing my upstream O2 sensor. When you take the oil cap off while the car is running, does it stumble or does it have some blowby? If so I might actually know what is causing it, as mine started with a faulty injector, that clogged my cat and fouled my O2 sensors and pcv valve, which is in the intake manifold, it's the little black piece on the engine side, and was initially caused by the timing chain tensioner failing. I have it in the shop to confirm the timing chain issue on Monday.
Yes I did check my oil but the tech said that the amount of gas mixture varies because it does burn out of the car. Mine is thin though and very potent smelling. Car part should arrive today and I can get it put in tomorrow.
