New HHR SS OWNER NEEDS HELP
The tank is only used in front wheel drive models, many have just bypassed it, it is there for special circumstances when the bypass valve exceeds the supply of vacuum.
I am a DIY type; I would go get a piece of PVC pipe a couple of endcaps and a couple of hose nipples. I have that sort of stuff laying around my garage.

It just said rich and bpv codes the scanner i used today did not say history or not or i just didn't read those. Completely deleted the codes after bypassing tank. Just took second ride for a little bit on break still no engine light. I seem to average 13 psi ish boost but that doesn't really bother me. As long as it runs like it is now ill be super happy! It's a consistent 13 ish psi instead of my 2 . No more bpv noise at low rpms. There is a bpv sound at high rpms when boost is full. But I believe that is normal since its under pressure and releasing pressure. I just hope it's fine on the way home. You were right Don. So far it was the vacuum.
You code scanner does NOT say "rich" or "bpv" it does deliver codes that mean something other than the title. NEVER post what the scanner "says" nobody cares, we need to know the code number. There are 3 types of codes current, pending and history, your scanner may use different words. Current codes cause a CEL, pending codes are waiting to see if it happens again and historic codes don't mean anything.
We just went round and round with another member trying to solve his weird codes; after 2 weeks he finally mentioned they were historical codes not current codes. History codes just mean "the cause of the code has been fixed. don't worry" they usually disappear after 100 cold starts.
End of lecture.
Neat, I was right and it was a cheap fix. The tank is for road racing where you are on and off the accelerator and dumping boost repeatedly.

I will go ahead and buy a new tank and install it. Thank you so much everyone for your help and I will let anyone know if something comes back.
Only thing I noticed was when I was almost home passing someone in 4th boost only rose to like 7 and then when I got into town in second it only went to 9. No cel. Is it normal to have random boost numbers or is it always suppose to be above 15?
Could be the result of no volume of the tank.
P2178 , could be a faulty O2 sensor or a faulty or dirty MAF sensor, make sure it’s connected!

P2261 is carboned up turbo.
I posted those in post #2. Did you clean the MAF ?
Is your air filter clean?
Is your air filter an oil type filter like a K&N, is it over oiled?

You might never get 15 psi from the stock tune. It's torque based, meaning it won't give you more boost than is needed for the 260 lbs ft of torque. 14 psi is the average maximum reported by members here.
Mine maxed out at 14 psi with the old engine and stock tune.

Before you buy a new tank, which is discontinued btw, you should make sure it wasn't a bad hose or clamp or ??
I did find this https://www.esaabparts.com/viewparts...tion=611818586
The solenoid is the same part number as for HHR, it would take more research to determine if the tank is the same.
EDIT: The tank fits 2011-2014 Buick Regal. The original tank from my LNF bolted right up and works just fine on the new LDK/LHU engine I installed, designed for the Buick Regal. Since your engine is also a Buick Regal engine, I would think this tank would work for you.
