New struts/shocks

With 79K i'm thinking on replacing my shocks/struts along with a new set of tires (have these in mind, for best overall yr round use:http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....S&autoModClar= )

Was wondering if anyone had good /bad things to say about shock/strut brands like KYB or any other ones.Got the green light from my better half to get what i want/"need so i figure i better start shoppping and thought i better ask us folks here also.

Thanks

Last I heard nobody makes a shock soley for the SS except GM....all the rest are for LS and LT's......unless you want to go high $ and get Koni's or coilovers...we are all waiting for a good shock to be released!

I have the shocks/struts from a cobalt SS. I am very pleased with the increase in damping performance. Got them used for $20 too, lots of cobalt SS owners upgrading theirs.

Well, i ordered KYB's all around (said they make them for SS's along with the others, so i'm hoping/assuming they are "SS" quality.)

Also got the wife to green light getting winter only tires (took a lil discussion in telling her new wheels for the summer only tires made a LOT of sense, compared to the silliness of swapping each season)So i get to shop all winter for new wheels in the spring

Here's what i ordered (UPS to deliver tomorrow=Tuesday)

Tires:

Struts/shocks:

http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/S...lar=&brand=all

Yah, the struts/shocks might be top notch on the list of "great" stuff, but the price was right ,and hoping they are better or at least the same as the OEM's, i can live with that.

I'm stoked on the tires, they got great ratings/reviews and looking forward to dealing with the winter weather here and the snow n ice driving.I somehow made it thru 2 winter seasons already w/ the stock tires ("All season",,right/sure,,, but not really in cold/snow/ice driving conditions )

All the stuff is from TireRack.com, and so far i've been happy with anything i've gotten from them.

Now back to shopping for wheels n tires for the spring,,

let us know ( of course you would, goes without saying) how those shocks compare...because they are the same as the reg HHR replacemnts...nobody has really done a side by side comparrison on them.I'll be doing the same soon on my 07 LS too....gotta finish the house first...
