Problem after zzp intercooler system install.

the reading on RPD is showing 96°. The reading on the dash next to odometer is showing outside temperature which was 38° at the time. Everything exept gm stage is stock. I didn't move any sensors or anything else to any other location. After some reading i learnd that indeed ss has two sensors measuring temps. Considering the thing that zzp charge pipe moves the sensor closer to the throtle body, might be the reason. But than we would see many people having the same problem. Already thinking about switching cold side pipe back to stock to see if that is gonna change anything. Would hate to remove the bumper again though. Oh and yes, i used to have 07 ls. Not anymore. It is 2010 ss now. :-)

I wonder if the sensor in the lower pipe is not sealing, letting in hot air from the engine compartment? I'd think you'd get a code for that, but maybe it hasn't finished it's DTC test for that yet? Also doesn't explain the reduced coolant temp, but again, that could be a separate issue, coincidentally happening at the same time.
EDIT: or any leak that is letting hot air in. Maybe even between the snorkel and the airbox. Would be good to know which sensor reports to the RPD.

Well, after reading the thread, I'm still unsure if the RPD is getting info from IAT2 exclusively, or an average of IAT1 and IAT2. But it seems that IAT2 is involved. Moving it closer to the heat source(engine), and changing the charge piping to conductive materials, is what they thought caused the IAT reading to go up.

PID is a request to the computer for information, A sensor is hardware. So, if you know the right PID to set the RPD to you can get any bit of info you want. That is a simple answer, does it help?
I seem to remember somebody saying that you can send PIDs with the RPD, I don't know.
What they are saing in the CobaltSS thread is that the sensor is mounted on metal and the metal is very close to the heat producing turbo, so it is actually reading the temp of the metal tube, not the temp of the air inside.
