Squealing brakes

2008 SS (non Brembo); 47K. Front brakes squealing (non grinding; non-scraping). Fix? Or replace pads?

I would think the first thing you would need to do is determine what the squeal is..........the wear indicators, pad surface to rotor, "squeal" compound? Then go from there.

However, I would first check both front pads for pad thickness. If they are down to the verticle wear bar (or close to it), I would do a replace job. But that is just me.

be sure to check the thickness of both the inside and outside pads on both the front left and right brakes, they do seem to wear out the inners first!

47k miles. I would at least replace the pads and do a check on everything else.
