Does anyone know the identifying number for the technical directive for the vacuum assist pump? I have an 09 Panel SS automatic and I'm pretty sure I don't have it. I went to the dealer and they ran the service record and it's not on there. I asked about the TD and they pulled one that applied to the non-panel SS's, but said my panel didn't fall under it because of the vin or something being slightly different. They did say if I could find the number or something pointing directly to the TD then they might be able to.

Thanks Snoopy. THis is the same one they gave me. Is chevy doing this retrofit for free, or was that a limited time only offer?

 

Is your Panel SS an Automatic?

 

Yes, as I stated, its an automatic. It was an early build panel SS, built around august timeframe 08 (I think). The chevy Dealer said that the TSB didn't apply to the vin on it because it's a panel, and the TSB only applied to non-panels.

 

If thats the case sounds like gm might have forgot about adding the vins of the panel ss' s
Sounds like you could call gm customer service and let them know of your concern.
I know that once I mentioned it was a safety issue they had no problem with adding it the pump on my non panel ss auto.
