Well, it's started up again. Not quite as frequent as before, but in the 45mph-75mph range, it is surging when going at a steady rate. Looks like I'll be taking it back for the third time, once I actually have time to do it.

Patrick, look at the lower Map sensor wireing and see if it's any close to the AC. I dont think its the top sensor but I noticed when I moved the wire away from the AC compressor, I have had no more problem. It's been about 1 week so far. I think the problem lies with the lower MAPP sensor and the wiring that had to be done. What code are they finding BTW?

Normally there is no code if the lower map hits. It will kill the boost and start over. It is so much not surging and go and dead go and dead.

It also normally happens under WOT.

It still would not hurt to look though.

The last two times, they've rerouted (first) and shielded (second) the wiring near the A/C condenser after finding water intrusion both times. They also replaced the boost sensor last time. It's not currently throwing a code, and honestly I'm a mechanical moron so if I looked at anything I probably wouldn't even know exactly what I was looking at to be able to describe it. I've mentioned everything I've read here as possible causes or things to look at, it's just really frustrating that the problem is still there. The car almost completely stalled out today when backing out of a parking lot at low speed, which is another symptom that has been going on every once and a while for a while, especially when the A/C is full on. The surging has happened both with the A/C on and off, though.

Me and others would say are pretty bothered by how cheap GM went on the stage kit. There should have just been a connector that was a plug and play water proof connectors like all other stock sensors have. even the dealer said the same thing. Butt Connectors? Really? Like i said, I wiggled and moved my lower wires a few weeks ago and now I havent had a surging problem after the enging rebuild.

Have the cobalt guys had issues like this because there is no shortage of HHR SS's having this issue.?.?.

Ok the CEL light turned off before I got to the dealership. They scanned it and found the MAF code.

I do have a K&N filter on there and just maybe some oil evaperated over the last year or so to contaminate the MAF.
I've have kn filters before and never had this issue.
Are their other MAF issues that people know of? I'm still at the dealership so I want to see what you all know too.

I guess I can clean the MAF with my electronic contact cleaner I have.

I've had a k&n on my car for a while and no problems. most people I know with the stage kit installed it themselves.

Hey there. Yes I need to head down to fed ex or ups and get a box that will hold the IC. My wife wants that stuff out of here. Think she's mad at me for blowing up the engine. DOH lol

I'm going to clean the MAF and see if it helps but anything can happen to me. Lol.. I have tomorrow off so ill mess with it then.

Good news is they found my oil leak and I have to go back next week and they are warranty the work. Wooo hooo

Taking the car back in tomorrow. While I was waiting at a stop light going to work today, the engine started shaking (in drive, idling at the light) so bad that the car was bucking back and forth, boost gauge was going crazy. I tried shifting to park and back, no help; tried keying off the ignition and restarting the car and it went right back to it and then surged like crazy the rest of the way to work (70ish mph freeway then 45ish mph). No CEL or other indicators, and it doesn't do it every time I drive it so I'll feel like an idiot if the tech can't replicate it. But I really hope it just gets fixed this time. So far I've been without my car for almost six weeks on this particular issue if I remember right.
