Does the motor need to be pulled to do this ? Anything required that will have to be done by the dealer ?

Thanks OB, I knew you'd jump in with a link. Nice job.

Also, if you are stuck on something, ask. A number of people on this site have a lot of experience.

So there could be a possibility the chain tensioner is failing or failed and put some slack in the chain and it skipped a tooth or a guide broke it will put slack in the chain and could also skip a tooth ? So if the two balance shafts are out of timing it will cause vibration . I think I have a better understanding now . Thank you everyone , you have been very helpful , might take some time but I'll keep you posted.

If you have eliminated the the external things that leaves internal. Checking the the balance shaft timing is a start.

Just so you know, a spun bearing/rod will start making a load noise at around 2K RPM as well.... that being said it would be easier to pull/drop the motor.

Will you guy's agree that I take it apart(timing chain cover and cam cover) and inspect all of the parts for wear and check all timing marks before I order the parts ? If timing looks good and nothing is loose or broken then I should put it back together and eliminate the balance shafts as the problem ?

My Haynes manual says to take note that you can remove the chain, but the balance shafts themselves can only be removed from the engine block after the engine has been removed from the vehicle.
