But the stock tires are 225x45x18 are they not? These are the same height just wider.

I think I have narrowed it down to the brand/type of tire I want. I just need confirmation on the size if a 245 40R/18 size tire would work or even a 235 40R/18

 

Wider also means taller, as the 45 measurement is not a predetermined size. 45 is the aspect ratio, meaning total sidewall height is equal to 45 percent of tread width. Therefor using a 225/45/18 tire would be 225x.45=101.25mm of overall sidewall height. Using a 235/45/18 tire would be 235x.45=105.75, or an overall height increase of 4.5mm along with a 10mm tread width increase.

 

After a lot of reading I understand that now..

Still nothing can tell me for sure if a 245 40R/18 or a 235 40R/18 tire will fit on my 7.5" rim without issue.

Maybe I should not take the risk and just stick with the stock size
