Okay, I'm a little ignorant on this and pretty much anything else that has to do with vehicles but I have just purchased a set of CSS rims and curious if 235/40/18 will fit and look good?

Thanks!

Just my thoughts ! Since you didn't lower the Front End you may want to consider 225 x 45 x 18's ! You sacrafice a slight amount of width but will fill the wheel well gap slightly ! Either one of the two sizes is a great way to go !

Good Luck,

265/35zr18 w/18x8.5 wheels on the front with goldline lowering springs=no rub and great traction. The ride seems okay although I have nothing to compare it to as I put it all together when I had 21 miles on the vehicle.

Thanks DLVRNIT! That link to use for comparison is sweet.

I was curious on the size because I found a slightly used set of Michelin Pilot Sports in this size for $350 local and that is a lot easier on the ole wallet than ordering a new set.

According to the Tire Size Chart a 265 x 35zr x 18" has a 10.5" Tread Width ! Not sure if you want to go that Wide of a Tire on a 7" Wide Wheel !

Good Luck,

No plans to go that wide, was just a good # to put in the calculator to verify I would be good to go.

not crazy about the black paint on wheels, rides well on these tires. will receive the gunmetal cobalt rims mon., and will post a pic also. Sons cobalt now sporting g6 gtp rims which I may slap on my car for another pic. After this rim swapping, going to let him chose which ones he intends to keep for his birthday
present.

Finally, put some rubber on the gunmetal cobalt wheels I bought off the cobalt forum. The cobalt they came off of had a big tree fall on it right down the middle, bumper to bumper. Anyways, I customized them a bit by removing the gunmetal grey from around the lip for a machined look. I thought the grey was basically clear gloss with a little black mixed in and would be easy to remove using a gel. Well the clear came off easy enough,
but under many coats of clear was a gloss black paint that would not come off as easy. Ended up going over it with a soft brass brush on my dremel tool.

Anyone using tires that are over 26" tall in the front? I have some G6 GTP wheels (7" wide and 41 mm offset I believe) with 225/50/18 tires that I want to use on the HHR.
