2011 HHR LT plastic chrome hubcap things
2011 HHR LT plastic chrome hubcap things
Hi, I have a 2011 HHR LT. It came with "chrome" (really plastic) hupcaps. Regardless of the fact that they are cheap plastic things, the main problem that I have with them are that the lugnuts are made of cheap black plastic and they are always loose feeling. They nuts have yet to fall off but they are just always loose feeling.
I have not check but are there real steel lugnuts under these plastic hubcaps that are holding the tire in?
Does anyone else have an LT that came with these plastic caps and loose plastic nuts?? Maybe since they is a 2011, the Mexican factory just decided to go cheap and make everything plastic.
There was a user who made a similar post about this and he said his "decoration lug nuts" were made of rubber and not plastic and that there are real steel nuts underneath the cap.

Did all 2011 LT's come with plastic "chrome look" hubcaps and not real chrome?
I guess I should just cough up some cash and get some real chrome hubcaps..
Thanks.......

Here is an eBay search that could help you.

to the forum hhrfever!Just to second Officer1151 and nacademus, you're looking at plastic nuts threaded onto the proper lug nuts, if they feel loose just snug them up with your lug wrench...not too tight though, or they will crack.
The 2011 1LT models came with the 16" chromed fascia spoke wheel covers as standard, the 2LT models came with the Chroma-Tech aluminum alloy wheels as standard.
Although the plastic nuts look and feel cheap, its dang near impossible to lose a wheel cover retained that way, just check them for snugness every once and a while.
