The 245/40/18 is pretty much the same overall diameter and width of the 245/45/17. I'm going to pull the trigger on a set. I'm trying to wait until xmas break when I have some time off from work.

9" wide...I'd like to see that, considering I ran 10's on the dirt car and the tires were quite wide..you making a south of the border car? Cuz your going to hanging out..and not with your buddies..my 7.5 on 42's are right close to the fender lip..but.. I want to do a fender extension like the rally cars, the body lines would allow this without anything fancy
or changing the basic body design and go to a 10 in setup..I'll be watching

After my warranty is up I'm swapping all my hubs out and going with a stanced profile like you see on a lot of tuner's these days...8.5-9" wide wheels with the huge lips on stretched tires. My budget won't allow for this now with the suspension upgrades I'll need to make. I've decided to leave my suspension as is for now since I'm already lowered and just throw a nice set of tires on to get me by until I decide to drop $3+k into new wheels and suspension mods. We'll see, I'm sure I'll change my mind again by then
