changing tire size

You could try 225/50-16 They fit and ride quite nice.

Couple questions.

Do you have a 2LT or 1LT. Pic's look like a 2LT.

What Brand and Model/Grade tire are you running with 225/55R/16.

I see you are in Ohio ... What about snow and ice performance.

225 is a pretty wide footprint for deeper snow.

Do you run a separate winter tire.

It's a 2LT... At the moment I've switched back to the factory 17 inch wheels with 225/50ZR17 Goodyears... I had the same Goodyear Eagles on both sets of wheels. (The Eagle that they don't make anymore) I wore the 16's out and the wheels started looking dodgy. I never had any problems with those tires in ice/snow/rain. They work great.

No Idea what I would replace them with, but I'll stay with the same sizes... I've got another set of new 16 inch rims sitting in the garage.
