Cobalt SS/SC wheels. Polished
Sanded with 120 then 240 then 360 on an orbital sander.... then wet sanded with 400, 600, 1000 and 2000 on a waterbug sander then polished with a high speed polish and polishing rouge... then I masked the faces and painted the backs black.... then I took my stock gold bowtie centers, masked those with vinyl masking tape and wetsanded them with 400 to get the gold off... I prolly have 100 + hours in these... alot of time...

As far as being an SS clone, Im standing up for myself on this one. the car is a 2011 and they didnt have an SS that year and being a 2lt with the 2.4 it has the most hp and is the highest trim level so it should be an SS haha.
I NEED LEVELING SPRINGS FOR SURE!

Nice job on the wheels though.
Not new to the forum but I think this is my first posting... I just got my wheels on today and wanna show off a little. I have a 2011 HHR 2LT cloned to a SS. list of mods include.....
Future plans include leveling the car out by lowering the rear, adding LED footwell lights to the rear seats (have the lights, just have to do it) and a couple little odds and ends... for those curious the tires are Goodyear rs-a 235/45 18s. they fill out the wheel well nicely and do not rub under any condition I have ran into yet.

Other than the SS badges, the ride looks good and the rims do too. It's a nice-looking 2LT. Very clean.
And I agree with Meijer, a white true SS would've been sweet...lots of possibilities for exterior mods.
The only thing SS about your ride are the SS labels. Nothing else about it is an SS...a true "clone" would at least have the SS body kit installed. It's a 2LT and it looks every bit like a 2LT, and it definitely isn't going to perform like an SS. Fake badging...arrrrrrrrrrrrgh. It ain't foolin' anyone.

the average joe has no idea the ss has different bumpers. trust me everyone thinks its an SS. I personally know its not and I know the difference. The only people who dont like it are real SS owners, and lets be honest only a handful of them care and thats because they know I spent alot less $$$ and look just as cool. no offense to anyone, its just the truth. SS bumpers will go on as soon as my wife will let me (its her car) and as soon as the money is there. but for now I have no shame in labeling it an SS.
Trust me, anyone who's an HHR enthusiast doesn't think it's an SS, even with you going the rice route and false badging it. Most true enthusiasts think fake badging a car is a joke...if anything, most enthusiasts are wondering why you have SS badges on what is so very clearly a 2LT.
Obviously what looks cool is in the eye of the beholder, but suffice it to say most people in the know don't see fake badging and think "Wow, that's cool!" I don't have anything against LSes or LTs, but they don't really do that much for me...that being said, I've seen some modded LSes and LTs that are truly amazing. SSes are a different beast. Congratulations on spending a lot less money than I did, but for my hard-earned I got a car that outperforms LSes and LTs by a wide margin, and for just a little more money (LNF Turbo Upgrade), widens the performance gap even further. I also have unique body effects, rims, interior accents...the same ones you're going to have to cough up some serious coin for to try to make the SS mirage you're trying to project more convincing.
So, yes, I do think you have a nice-looking ride, as I said before, but I'm definitely not thinking to myself, "With that massive wheel gap and fake SS badging, that car is just as cool as a real SS...wish I had saved my money and just bought an LT and fake labeled it."
There's a few distinct schools of thought on the fake SS thing.
Some say "Hey, it's his/her ride, if he likes it, that's all that matters." A slightly different variation on this viewpoint is "I wouldn't do it myself, and it ain't my thing, but he/she likes it, so whatever."
Others think Chevrolet did their fair share to cheapen the SS moniker on their own, so it no longer matters.
For the purists, fake badging just comes off as a lame attempt to pass their rides off as something they're (usually VERY obviously) not. I just don't like fake badging period, for all cars...what's sad is that some of these cars would really look great without the fake badges. I can't help it...my eyes go to that instantly, and right away I think "whyyyyyyyyyyyy?!"
Put another way: if the OP had never put the fake badges on it, or tried to claim his ride was somehow an "SS clone", not one negative word gets said about his 2LT. He would've gotten a nice round of compliments on the Cobalt rims and general appearance. But fake badging is always going to polarize, especially among enthusiasts.

I've never understood the whole..."let me put on a bad ass badge because I want everyone to think my car is fast", but to each their own...just as in customizing...different strokes for different folks. I just saw today a Toyota Matrix...base model, totally stock with one of those Autozone "turbo" badges on the rear. Now, he may have had a turbo in it...but any enthusiast that does a turbo upgrade and keep their vehicle sleeper stock is not going to put a "turbo" badge on their car because that takes away from the "sleeper" effect. How about mustangs putting GT-R badges on when it's clearly not the $80k no airconditioned muscle car. The argument from the OP about most people not knowing the difference...well he's probably right. If you don't know this car inside and out you aren't going to know the difference but those are usually the people you aren't trying to impress...right? When we do mods to our vehicles we do them for ourselves and to show off to other enthusiasts because honestly most moms and pops that aren't into cars won't know the difference if a car is lowered or has different wheels. Ok, I've probably babbled enough...lol.
OP, nice car man...love the wheels and the white is a tough looking color...but do yourself a favor and ditch the SS badges. If you know it's not an SS, the people that it matter too know its not as well.
