Thanks...

Well I bought a new set of tires for the car, they were probably not my first, second, third, or twenty-eighth choice -- but -- with the holidays I needed a set and I needed set cheap... So I got Ironman Imove tires. I am sure they are marginally better than the Firestones...but then again, no tires would have been marginally better than those things...LOL

I found this site, www.tirebuyer.com Don't know anything about them. But prices are good & no shipping charges. FWIW.

Well, anything has to be better than worn out, old, bald tires. And if they were cheap, that's not the worst thing in the world. Sometimes that's the way to go. At least they're new!

Even cheap tires are better than shagged out rubber, and I've found some private label tires aren't bad at all. The '61 is running on Cordovan tires which are an ancient private label brand. I like them because they still make a knock off of the old Firestone Town & Country tire, I have them on the back and that old critter goes anywhere.

Just got back from 2+ weeks in the frozen tundra up north and can report the F-1's did an amazing job in all sorts of snow and ice no regrets on the investment they get two thumbs up I really didn't think they would do it. But all I can say is they repeatedly overcame every thing in front of them and 25+mpg through mountain passes too, Kodos to GoodYear
