At 65,000 discovered some uneven tire wear. I rotated the tires front to back, then had the car realigned. toe out a little. One of the tires must have thrown a weight cause I had a terrible shake at 55-65 mph, so had the front re balanced @ $10/per tire.

Just an update. My mpg average pre Assurance tires was 30.5 mpg and after 15,000 on these tires my average mpg is 31.2 mpg.

I have done a little more highway driving, but the mleage improvement seems to be there.

If you look at Goodyears website they claim 2600 miles in gas savings over 65000 miles = 4%. I would imagine that is the absolute max you could get. If you are getting 30mpg now, then you could get 31.2 over the life of the tire.

Hi. I bought four of these tires and absolutely LOVE them ! Much quieter, better ride than the stock 215 55's. Purchased two: 215*60*16's and two 225*60*16's on my stock black 16" steel five spokes that came with my black 2009 HHR. Once you take off the hub caps, a whole world of possibilities opens up. Incredible difference after I lowered my car 2" and 2 1/2 " front and rear. Filled up the fenderwell, and looks and rides so MUCH BETTER now. Just thought I'd throw that in.

@ HHR*Chevrolady....... No ABS or Traction control issues with the mis-matched tire sizes? I ask because this came up in another thread and is still open for debate.

Any one buy these with the 17s? Sounds like mostly good reports on the 16s. Ride, handling good? Still have 5/32 at 41k on the original GTAs, but look to replace them with something else. Looking at Michelin, Continental and have heard good things about the Uniroyal Tigerpaw. But the fuel mileage plus of the Goodyears have my attention. With gas prices as they are, I don't want to give up gas mileage.
