The stock Affinity tires were the worst stock tire I've ever owned.

Also, as far as sidewall markings go, except for speed ratings, there is no industrial standard for most of the things you find there. You can really only compare their ratings to tires from the same manufacturer.

I am currently at 103,000 miles on the OE Affinities and thinking about changing them this week with Lincoln's hair still showing just to take advantage of the sale 2 months before state inspection. I got about 80,000 on the ones that came on my last HHR.

And I did notice the other sidewall diff. The OE are P215-55X16 V. 215-55X16.

Holy CRAP!!!!!! I guess that's pretty awesome.

But that is why I think they are the worst I've ever owned. Tires that are designed for high mileage and great MPG's use harder compounds. When they do that, they have to sacrifice somewhere and these sacrifice with ride quality, stopping distances and traction.

Hell, even my 66 year old mother had a hard time keeping them from spinning on her HHR LS, so I had to buy her different tires

I don't have that problem, but then I keep them properly inflated and I'm only 62. Too much air causes spinning tires.

those tires at 103k must have been complete SLICKS...
we have limit of 1.6mm minimum on tire thread depth. and i strongly advise to renew tires when ever they reach 10 years OR that limit (appr. 0.1 inch deep thread).

our hhr has original 17" firestones lifesavers (2008) and winter time they are changed for coldest months to winter tires- and we now have in odo 40k- tires look like half run, maybe 5mm (0.2in) left. thinking of renewing them at latest summer 2015.

My HHR is in the shop at the moment getting new shoes! I went and got ComforTreds. Thanks for the replies. I wish I could have gotten 103000 out of the Affinity's. but Lincoln's hair is almost completely visible and the tires have advanced dry rot. I was just waiting on some money to free up.
