You might want to use the following tire size calculator to check if the size you are going to install is recommended.

They don't recommend anything with a differential over -3% or +3%.
I did a lot of reading when I bought mine and there is a problem especially if you have 4 wheel ABS. To much differential and it can throw the ABS system off. Here is an article about this.

I put a set of Michelin M4MN's on my HHR about two weeks ago. Costco had a decent price on them with a $70 instant coupon.
While I'm not please with the $714 OTD price tag, I must say, in the 1000+ miles I've put on them, they've done great in the wet and dry. I just hope they last close to the 55K mile warranty they have.

I just got a new set of Firestone wide Oval A/S's on my '07 LT. at first I was going to go with Bridgestone Potenzas but they didn't have them in the right size. The guy then suggested other Firestones ( I forget which but the reviews sucked), I told him the reviews were bad, so he suggested the Wide Oval AS. They are performance tires. I think the "AS" -- "all season" version is new on the market. I didn't find much of any reviews out there, but the regular Wide Ovals get very solid reviews for dry conditions. So far I find them to be a smooth ride, excellent handling and good in rain. These might be a nice option for those looking for an affordable performance tire with some all season capability. We'll see how they hold up to the rigors of NJ winter!
A brief update, we had a surprise October snowstorm a couple weeks ago (about 4-5") and the Wide OVAL AS tires performed superbly. I even took it into a vacant parking lot that wasn't plowed and could barely get the tires to lose traction on fairly sharp turns at moderate speed. Very good performance in dry/rain/snow...LOVING these tires so far.
