Yes you'd need ten if you're only going with spacers on the front wheels to provide clearance for the calipers, if I were doing it myself I'd use spacers on all four corners to maintain the proper backspacing/offset....and to keep the rear track at its normal width.

 

so pep boys can replace these studs there in there store?

 

DJR1973 has also run Solstice wheels on his old 2LT. he'd be good to check with as well.

 

I checked with him when I did mine, Yea pepboys said they would do it, I just picked a speed shop, cause its a little abnormal for a regular shop.

 

Studs are not that hard to replace. All you have to do is tap out the old ones with a hammer (hard taps mind you). Insert the new stud. You can use washers and a lug nut to help seat them initially. Once you have them all done, torque the wheel back on and check daily for a few days to make sure they get seated good. Disks are a little harder than drums, and you can usually only do one at a time. You'll have to rotate the hub and drum to find a good point where you can remove/install them.

 

Solman98, You have it described fairly well, the two techs working on mine, really didn't make it look all that easy, and they had air to pull them back in. The back went just as slow as the front, one at a time.

843, I was under the impression that the studs came with the spacers, At 90.00 an end. I was a bit miffed when they didn't come with the spacers. Was happy to find that they are a direct replacement, and everybody has some, only problem was they each seemed to have 2 or3 and I needed 20, took a little running around, like a Scavenger hunt. I might have a receipt around here some where, but once they found the stock one the extended one was right there.

 

I checked the online Dorman catalog with no luck on the studs, I'm sure they were a doddle to find with the book right there. The folks at Andy's need to revise the product description to mention that studs aren't included, I've sent them an e-mail suggesting that.

Why didn't the parts store goofballs just get you more studs for the following day, they can do that, but considering the mental acumen of some counter people.....well you know. Advance and other parts stores have always been very good at getting parts in for me the following day if they are out of stock.
