I am looking at getting the same rims.By changing to the 225/50/17 tires from the 215/50/17 stock tires does that mean the tires are wider or taller?

Yes slightly both ways.

215/50/17 = 25.5" tall, & 215mm wide at section width

225/50/17 = 25.9" tall & 225mm wide at... (generally)...

The Speed-O will be barely off by approx 1.2 mph slower than actual speed..

No Problemo man..

Many here have done this swap. I did also, my 225/50/17s' are 26.1" tall.. Big improvement..

Thanks!I assume you have no fitment or rubbing issues, right? Is the ride better?

So will the the 215/50/17 stock tires( now on stock 17x6.5 rims) and the 225/50/17 both fit on 17x7.5 after market rims? I am looking at a set and deciding which tire to go with.

Nope, mine just fit. ( the front is the area to watch for).. I have .300 clearance above front tire to strut plate. No issues at all.. Ride is better !!! Looks better...

Yes both tire sizes will fit the stock rim, or the 7.5" wide rim..
