That's a pretty common problem with those wheel covers I think. I had the same problem on my Aura...they were the ones like on the LT that look like alloy wheels. They rattled all the time. Good idea about the tape. I think I will try that!

I love my HHR but I wish that the engineers would not have cheapened up on it in so many little areas.
I have a couple sets of New Chrome hubcaps if your interested.

Only fit the 5 spoke wheel.

2 different styles.

Private message me if interested.

Here is my solution to those hub caps, less than $100.
Remove - clean wheels - beauty rings - new lug nuts
Still working on ideas for the center cap, for now it has a thin coat of rustoleum. (Thin - So I don't mess up the threads on the front axle.)

Thanks Silverfox but I have the wheels with the round holes around the perimeter. I am looking at different GM factory wheels that might look good on my HHR. I saw a 09 malibu with some 18" wheels that look like cobalt ss wheels.

Found these center caps on a trailer parts website $14 bucks for 4.
size - 2.33"

Fits the Malibu, Malibu Maxx, HHR, Pontiac G6, Saturn, and Saab with 5×4.53 inches (5x115mm) wheels.
05 to 09 and 2016 to 2022 Malibu uses these size wheels also if anyone wants to use newer wheels on their HHR.
I know this is an old thread but posted in case anyone else is still searching for covers wheels or centers.
