Having just solved the 245/40/18 situation, my next step will eventually be new wheels (and selling the OEM's to finance said new wheels) so I want to make sure I know what I'm doing before I do it.
you will be good...no fitment issues at all and the 245/40 will be just fine. the offset on their website is listed at +35 which only moves it closer to the strut by 1mm and closer to the fender edge by 8ish mm iirc.

i was gonna do the black/red lip but it was on back order for 6 weeks. there are vendors who have them in stock but my local discount tire's distributor didn't have them. the black and silver were in stock and ready to ship so i went with them. i am extremely happy with how they turned out. the silver is a machined finish and just really sets the wheels off.

i really wanted to do some wide wheels but i couldn't wait 6 weeks for the build time. then i was looking at the enkie pf01's which are sexy as hell and weigh only 18.8lbs in the 18x8 variety. then i decided that with needing a clutch and a couple other things that i would just get the msr's and still be able to take care of the other little things.

they may be noisy but i don't notice any noise from them. of course between stereo, air intake which lets you hear the turbo and the bpv, and the exhaust cutout that im about to put on......i don't think it really matters

add in the tranny mounts and the stg 3 clutch and im not really going for the comfort cruiser of a caddy here

Cool, there's already so little space to work with in there, I'd hate to cause a whole new level of fitment issues.

Do you happen to know which vendors had the MSR045's in black/red in stock when you looked? I'm turning up nothing so far, and no information regarding when they'll be available either.

Also it looks like they end up 13mm closer to the fender edge (going from 7.5" to 8" wheel) according to this calculator, but that should still be OK right? Seeing as multiple people are running it successfully so far.

I dont know if anyone had them in stock or not. Nga motorsports and someone else gave me a quote and neither told me they were out of stock. Discount tire told me it would be 6 weeks for the red/black.

As far as offset you should be fine. I have plenty of room and i have 255s mounted and im still a half inch or so from being flush with the fender

I looked at getting a set of those wheels for my SS last summer, but wasnt sure how they would look on it. I think they look pretty good on your SS, I ended buying a set of chrome Solstice wheels instead.

The site I found with the best combined price + shipping said they're at least 45 days out from getting any in stock. Blah. I'm determined to wait on the black/red because I know I'll regret settling for the black/silver or all black - nothing against them, but the red's what I'm going for.
