Snap On TPMS tool worked as follows during the procedure.
1. Initiate Learn procedure via key fob key on on auto light off.
2. Start at Drivers Front wheel- put scan tool to TPMS, would register on scan tool, horn would never honk or move light to next tire. Scan tool would say move to next.
You would walk around entire car with the scan tools direction, but the horn or lights on car would never change. Eventually timing out. Each tire would register on the scan tool, but the car would not recognize.

Ok that is a diiferent tool than I was thinking. If the shop has a computer tool they can retrieve the ID numbers from the TPM and insert them into the correct position in the RCDLR.

Had 2 shops look at it. (The one I was at, and the shop across the street) They both said it was incompatible with the computer.
All of them are using the Snap On TPMS3 tool.
Buy four of the correct ones from someone else. When you get them test it next to the car with one wheel off away from car. If it works install them and return the others.
The more I think about it; I wonder if the tool could make 2010-2011 TPM programmable without the special tool by lying to them about what year to be programmed for.
