How wide? The lower offset helps move it out, so ... maybe?

225/40-19 is almost the same outer diameter. If you go wider than 7.5" wheel, you limit your possibilities.

But, even at 7.5, are YOUR roads that good? A 3.5" sidewall in Detroit is just plain stupid. You will be buying expensive wheels all the damn time.

And moved to tires and wheels, since this is not an SS specific question.

a 35 series tire? Man, your roads there must be laser smooth. Like Blue_SS says you will be buying wheels all the time.

I noticed a harsher ride on the 17” rims on my 2011, from the 16” rims on my 2007.
but the FE3 suspension is much better then the FE1 suspension, I can’t imagine the stiffness of the FE5 SS suspension.

Yep less sidewall will do that (as we know) but the less the sidewall the more the tires cost.. Just can't win..

I'm totally pleased from way back when I up-sized my 17" tires to 225/50/17, lil more sidewall (minimal) but noticeable improvement..
But have to watch, as my speed-o will read like .03 mph slower than I'm actually traveling.

.03 mph? How could you possibly notice that?

I really can't, but the math shows it to be that.. FWIW.
