Winter's finally over so....

Took the SS out of storage today. It was very dusty so I rinsed it a bit when I arrived at home, but it is due for a thorough cleaning and waxing. I know what to do on saturday. Sorry for the very crappy cellphone pics, but I had to post the pics anyway First pics with the Rial Nogaros on.

Love it! I may have to go with something like this on mine when I upgrade.

I didn't think these came in our bolt pattern. How did you make them fit?

I think there are spacers that have different bolt patterns. Just a guess.

You're right. The wheels are 19x8 5x112 and 35 offset. When I bought the wheels, I had also purchased 5x110 to 5x112 wheel adapters. But with the adapters on the car (the adapters are 27mm thick), the wheels were sticking out too much to my taste, and I did not like the look. Since the wheels, at 35 offset, were already sticking out more that the original SS wheels, adapters were not an option.

So I was able to fit the wheels using wobbly nuts (see the link below). At first, I was wondering about the security of these wobbly nuts, so I installed the nuts, making sure the wheels were centered, and then proceeded to tighten the nuts, in small increments, rotating the wheels by hand to make sure they remained centered in the tightening process. I torqued the nuts to 100 foot/pound (same as HHR SS specs). I then drove very slowly for the first 10 miles. I stopped, and re-checked the torque, and I needed to re-tighten some of the nuts, a bit. I then drove a bit faster for another 50 miles, and re-checked. OK. So far, i've driven over 300 - 350 miles with this set-up, and there is no shimmey whatsoever while driving. Since then, I checked the torque regularly, and the nuts are still at 100 foot/pound.

UPDATE: After 3000Kms, my wheels nuts are still at the correct torque. No issues whatsoever. I'm happy.
