Geg, I'm very sorry to hear about your car and problems with the drunk. It seems like you handled it very well. My wife and I both enjoy your stories, even if they are not that good on outcome. I mean we just enjoying hearing about things in Russia and you tell the stories so well. My wife asked if you are coming to the HHR picnic here in Michigan this summer. She says she'll bring you some vodka as long as you bring the stories.

Oh and do you have any pictures of the damage?

hi guys.
Thank you for your empathy.
Small photo report, if you will.

Here is my HHR in its permanent place on the parking lot. Ahead of alcoholic vehicle. You can see his ass beige. The distance between the cars - more than 10 meters.

Reversing and broke his bumper. Janitor put splinters under the car and you can see them.

The left canine of my HHR was stuck in his license. He took the brunt of the destruction and would not let it in depth. Powerful stuff, sturdy plastic.

The curve of the muzzle, but not fatal. A little dirty. But in Russia saying: "Tanks are not afraid of dirt. "

Bumper without damage. But needs to be painted.

Possibly destroyed by brackets. Bumper is not level. An autopsy will clarify the situation. In addition, the left headlight is unstable - possibly destroyed by mounting.

gap on the right. Bumper shifted

Developments.
Bumper took the blow and moved upwards. Transmitted pulse at the grill. Grill, in turn, gave impetus to the hood. Metal of hood is deformed in the attachment of the grill.
.

The shock wave spread across the hood. She was already very weak. But manages to microscopic deformation. If you look closely - you can see paint peeling from the metal.

Grill has a small crack. Not fatal. But the reason for technological creativity.

As you can see - not all bad. Large parts do not need to be replaced. Some of the brackets I have. Fixing lights can be repaired. In Russia it is common practice.
But the main thing - I got money. I can begin to repair.

Thank you for posting the pictures geg, it is most likely that the mounting tabs on the left headlamp are broken leading to its instability. I do hope the 20,000 Rubles is enough to cover all of the repairs needed, I am guessing that the damage would cost about $2,000 to $2,500 to repair in the US. Please post pictures of the completed repairs as I know that Russian craftsmen can do amazing work.

I'm not a violent man, I did not hit him hard. Just a couple of blows to cool down and to clarify the brain. In addition, he was drunk and he was almost 50 years. Defenseless in front of me. I easily took his crowbar. Why mutilate the old man? He punished himself with his own hands.

And pictures of him too disgusting. Communicate with the family fools I do not want. disgusting.

20000 rubles - is enough. In Ekaterinburg, prices are not the same.
Official dealer: 1 working hour = 1100 - 1700 rubles. Parts is more expensive than the store at 30 - 60%. Valid 2000 - 2500 dollars, but not at the expense of quality improvement.
No dealer, but a solid repair shop: 1 working hour = 700 - 900 rubles. Parts buy their own.
Private, small shops: use fixed price. For example: painting fender - 5000 rubles, painting the hood - 7000 rubles, and so on. Before you start work, we need to agree on the final cost. Can and should be traded to reduce the price.
In the suburbs the prices are lower - a little effective demand.
There is also the concept of "patronage". Client has come from the street - the price is higher. The client came at the recommendation - the price is a little less. The client is a friend, relative, neighbor, classmates - the price can drop to infinity.
I will repair my HHR in Bogdanovich. 90 kilometers from Ekaterinburg. owner - my friend and former colleague.
Repairmen will eliminate all injuries, they also paint the front fenders (tiny scratches), yet they are painted in white grill, door handles, gate handle and mirrors. The cost of works and materials - 26000 rubles.

I too was concerned about the costs. 20000 rubles to usd is about $667 USD. That's not allot of money. I surely hope, geg, that you have enough.

Good luck and please keep us up to date on your repairs. I look forward to seeing how you mend it back to proper shape.
