Here’s the bottom of the block where the crankshaft is above the main bearing girdle.

Here’s the oil pan, it’s deep enough for the 10 mm bolt head to live down there, I would drop the oil pan, just to be sure.

Here you can see the gap between the holder tool and the sprocket, allowing movement for the chain to ratchet the tensioner when you torque the three bolts

This was mine after just 20,000 miles , never buy a cheap EBay chain kit! Cloyes 9-4201 SX for timing chain and 9-4202 SX for balance shaft chain . Just chains and guides and install a front guide upper bolt replacement for the front guide.

In this photo the pine needles are pointing to the black rubber strip from the 1/4 panel to the roof panel. Have a close look you’ll see we’re it’s deteriorating

This loose cheap EBay chain was related to a P0014, I changed the intake and exhaust solenoids and replaced the timing and balance shaft chains with Cloyes kits.
