Ya this guy is crazy, I hadn't seen this video but I have seen another he has done. It would take me a year to put an engine together if I did what he does on these videos.

Good info for a beginner. I wonder how many miles that engine has on it?

I looked up my specs and I went with .0018 on top and .0020 on second.

He does go into detail... He has a whole series of videos, quite entertaining and for the most part factual if doing this for the first time. He had ~11k miles on the motor when he broke the ring land on the factory piston.

Thank you to mkriebs for the good buy on these phenolic spacers. I got tired of waiting for Werks to bring them back.

Cool glad you got them(I am brap on the other forum). They were for sale on facebook too...surprised they lasted so long.

I got my engine out a few days ago and I have the engine mostly apart. At about 20k miles I noticed a good amount of gunk on the back of intake valves when I installed my 5th injector. I did not think it would help with build up since its really only operating when WOT. They are almost completely cleaned.

Also it was not perceivable to me yet, but I had a fuel injector combustion seal leaking. You can see the blow by all the way up injector 2. The other seals were not far behind. These were the white ones. I have the black ones here and the tool to install new ones. I've used e47 for 3 years.

Thanks, That is good info hhrfreek. I started tuning for e47 on my stock engine this summer so I could get a handle on it before the new engine goes in. I was wondering how long the stock seals would put up with it. I have seen many problems with ethenoal in fuel, and have actually started to hate the stuff, but since I have been using e47 in my car I have found a new love. Lol. I took my boy for a ride and he couldn't believe how it changed the car. I thought to myself that if I would have used it sooner I may not have built a engine, but as time goes we all know it doesn't take long to get use to the extra power. That's why there is no such thing as to much power. Lol

This housing from Borg Warner has taken me 5 months to get. Just got it today. they tell me it is the only one they have done. I don't know if I believe that, but I can say it will make my installation much cleaner having the outlet facing forward.

Nice. I welded the stock turbo elbow on. That allowed me to keep the stock IC tube location.

I looked for a stock turbo outlet, because I needed to keep my original one with the stock engine. Just decided to go this way when I saw it, nice and compact. More Picts coming soon!

A friend of mine said I should show what the back balance shaft bearings look like. The inside is smooth with just the oil holes.

I had one bearing that pushed out about 1/3rd of the width of the bearing when installing the OTTP rear plugs. I didn't like it so I removed it and used the plug to instal the new bearing. No way for it not to be in the right position installing it this way.
