towing

Hello I'm new to this site. Just recently bought a 08 hhr to go back and forth to work. Was wondering if any if you tow with them? Not looking to pull a whole lot just trailer and 4 wheeler. And what kind of hitches yall have. Thanks for any info.

to the forum, and congrats on your new ride!

You can tow with an HHR, but they are strictly for light duty towing.

Here is a 4' x8' light duty trailer that I put together from a frame kit from Harbor freight.

I tow with my 08 manual and have not had any problems. I like the hidden hitch brand the best. They bolt up to the hhr with out drilling. I also used the pulg and play harness from hidden hitch.

I have a 10 with a 2.2 and I have been towing an utility trailer with no problems. It is not real big but it get the job done.

A purely technical answer is: the HHR is not rated for towing things. But lots of people do.

If the General wanted you tow, he would have given you a hitch.

I gear is AWESOME and also great for towing
it is 1st thru 3rd and can be driven to top speed
in town it puts you around 2600 rpms at the lowest andpretty much keeps you in the power band
great passing gear and great for going around curves
great for hills and mountain driving and keeping you in the power zone

you will use more gas and get poorer mpgs
but
that is what fun is all about
