temp guage

Has any one had problems with temp guage being accurate. It's been in the high 80s and low 90s here and guage reads 67, even after turning off and restarting.

I presume your refering to the DIC in your HHR, as in coolent temp.mines been showing 198-205 depending on if I stop at a light. Id say check to make sure it's not in celsius instead of fareinhet something like that. What was the temp here yesterday 87 or so in Seattle? How this helps

I'm hoping he means the outside temp. Mine is higher that 70 (engine temp) inside the garage in the morning.

Mine seems to be close most of the time, but it can be way off others. Not really sure where the sensor is located.

Mine climbs faster than the outside temp. If its 70, it is usually about right; If its 80, it is reading 82-85; If its over 90-95, it could read over 100 .

The sensor is located inside the right front fender, behind the headlight on the radiator support. I tried to let it hang - not touching anything to see if it was "wicking" heat off the sheetmetal. Didn't make a difference. The only fix so far from others has been to have the BCM replaced. I'm going to complain to my dealer the next time I have it in for an oil change.

Mine does the same thing. Seems the hotter it is the farther off the guage is. It seems to normally be withinn 2-3 degrees when its like below 65. I actually noticed this in two other GM vehicles that I drove also, A Grand Prix Pontiac and a Maibu, both did something similar. Who knows maybe its a GM Thing..?

there is a tsb on the temp module. Mine runs 3, sometimes 4 degrees high.

Mine is exactly like yours...off...way off. I just have been lazy about getting back to dealer. It is the body control module. They will replace it, then they need to reprogram the computer, plan to leave your car for the full day.
