Im real interested in seeing how this whole thing turns out. As well as seeing what its really going to take to build up the auto tranny when we need to do it.

After doing some checking, I found a place that has or will beef up the 4T45E trans[auto thats in a SS]. Talking to the owner, and telling him what I was looking for, he said that the beefed 4T45E from them, can handle up to 500 H.P. and the related torque.
The name of the place is Import Performance Transmissions, in N.J.
If I do the higher power[and i'm sure I will], it's the trans I will use. Don't think stock trans will take much more than about 340-350 H.P. without grenading. Intrested parties, check this place out. They do a lot of trans for drag racing.
Next step would be to address the lack of traction for street use. The SS can only take so big a tire, and if you can't hook it up, then you're stuck with a high H.P. "Pooch". "Moon"

Here is the info I got on the LSD for auto's.

Yes, the 4T45E. I sell a limited slip unit for your transmission, it sells for $599. During Jan, I usually run a sale since its the slowest time of the years. I'll sell one to you for $500 even if you order before the end of the month. Tell your forum guys about it. I need the last 8 digits of your VIN so I know which gear ratio you have. I accept Paypal and US Postal money orders (add 4% for PP). Allow 5-7 business days for build time. Please call the number below if you have any other questions or to place your order. Thanks!

Yeah! Now we're talking. If I do the deal, I'll have to pick one of these up.Things are looking up. Some of these "I'll shift it myself, because I'm good" guys, just might be in trouble. We'll see who's Stones are bigger. "Moon"

I'm a little behind you moon but the pedders are on the way. Then I'll have to save up a little I think the next stage might need to be done all at once. Turbo intercooler pipes LSD and tune whats that add up to. 23 or so, guess I need a good month

So lets say I have the LSD for the auto, although Im somewhat new to higher performance DD's. I still would need better built internals on the trans right?

Depends. If that LSD was made to fit the stock trans, then no. It would just help both wheels hook up.
Of course if you are modded with a bigger turbo and a tune, and wanted to push it to the limit off the line, then yes.
Personally if I just had an auto SS with an aftermarket tune, I would think about it, as it comes detuned from the factory to save the transmission.

I think you'd need both on a higher H.P. ride, due to the limited traction problem, limited by tire size. "Moon"
