I took mine in yesterday, with all the extra info I had learned here like the different wiring and such for HHR SS's. My dealer said he'd have the tech look at it then give me a time estimate, as the kit itself says nothing about the estimated time. I know that HP tuners takes around 20 minutes to just download the program out of the HHR SS, so I figure its gonna be more than 1 hr. He calls, says they figure 3 hrs, but the tech offered to do it at 2 hrs, and he said its his best tech, so I said that would be fine. I'm happy for sure, you cannot tell under the hood anything different with the wiring harness, so I am pleased. I would have liked to do the wiring myself, but they have the program so with the info I had at the time, I figured might as well just get it done.
$210 is what it cost me here in Indiana.

PS: Its well worth it to gather the info here about it and take it to them, I can fully believe 5 hrs if they are trying to figure it out on the phone, especially on the first few installs.

I think the 1st few of us with the installs have worked out the bugs and hopefully have helped the rest....

It is the cheapest HP per $ I have ever gained, and you won't be disappointed.

Wow everyone seems to be having problems. I was in and put within an hour and a half and that includes the time I pulled into the dealer to the time I was out

There has been a few install problems when the tech tries to follow the wire color instead of the pin-out diagram of the sensors. Due to the Holiday shutdown a bulletin will not get out until after January 5th. However, the information has been posted on the dealer forum. Have you dealer go to this site for assistance with the install instructions (it is restricted to dealers only):

Nothing like being the sacrificial lamb!Take one for the team! Hoo-Rah!! What I didn't mention was my dealer wanted to take the FRONT END off to gain access,go figger.they spent about as much time trying to install as they did debugging. And ther were warned beforehand and that the info was available.Water under the bridge. Its still worth it.This beotch hauls!Just remember to keep a strong hand on the wheel.if you have it turned it will tend to continue turning. This was noted while getting around the (excuse me) blue haired xmas shoppers today.Another interesting item,at 55(where I was getting best results for mpg) has now moved to 65.I get a solid 33 at 5 and 35-38 at 65.You really have to feather your foot to stay out of the turbo as it comes in really quick with the slightest movement of the throttle.Cruise control will come in handy here.I figure its still in "learn" mode so we wil see what happens after about a week.Overall the motor is crisper and the boost gage flies on demand.Enjoy!

Man, after reading some of your horror stories and when I spoke to my dealer service guy and he didn't know there was a GM kit for the HHR, I'm worried. He did tell me to call him when the kit comes in so he could research it before they start. I would say that is a good start but I'm fearing a screw up install.

people should be talking to the Tech, directly. People on this forum probably know more from all the info here than the tech does.

remember the tech deals with all different makes and models so they cant study our cars as well as we do.
