GM UPGRADE or TUNE 1

now that GM released the upgrade, does the stage 1 tune do the same as GM upgrade, one is software the other is hardware? is the GM upgrade for 09 cars?
i was planing the following.. GM upgrade, k&N filter, cold box intake tube, larger cat-back exhaust, larger intercooler and tubes, is there more? is my thinking correct and still be worry free about waranty issues and gained horsepower?

The GM Stage 1 Turbo upgrade kit consits of 2 new sensors, 2 harness pigtails and a software flash.
The upgrade for the '09s should be out 1st quarter of '09.

I don't know how anal GM will be about warranty issues if you have the intakes and exhaust...

I'll probably just get the GM tune once I see the dyno's of JUST a GM tune. So far, everyone else already has an IC and exhaust etc.

I've got 2, 500rwhp+ vehicles, I just want my SS to be peppy and still have a warranty, so I wont be going with an exhaust or anything other than a tune.

All depends what you want

I'm feeling you, Matt. I can get my HP fix with my GTO and be content for my "slow" car to be in the 13's or 14's. My HHR is a daily driver, so the warranty is paramount.

From the difference in torque allowed for the various LNF models, it's clear that GM has done a pretty fair amount of research into what they feel is safe within the context of allowing them to cover the entire powertrain under warranty.

there is a law that states the dealer must prove that the mod caused the problem that you are seeking repair for, but its their ball and bat and is hard to dispute if they are pr!!ks
