You're a brave and adventurous soul. I had pondered this very thing, but couldn't bear to lose the fogs.

IMO, probably the best place to do it as there is no restriction or any blocking of airflow. Fog housing should provide a good funnel to push the air in. Keep us posted, I want to see how this turns out! I would like to see a lot more pics of your ride and the things you have done to it.

You guys are talented and getting close. There was another recent idea posted here that had some real potential as well. This is good stuff, I await anxiously.

I know that I'm just a 2.4 guy, but when looking at the pic of the outer "grill" that houses the fog lights, I think....

This would take time and patience, but what if you cut out the back part of the diamond pattern, leaving just the outer grill part? That would keep the appearance stock yet open up a lot of airflow area. Just keep in mind of what may happen during very wet driving conditions. The MAF does not like water.

Just opening that up the way you have done, even without any further ducting I would think would get more cold air into the fender well area that the intake draws air from. Like others, I pondered the same thing but could not figure out where the fogs would go. Good job though.

I've seen a couple of Ion RedLine guys cut out the plastic in their mesh grilles for more airflow. It takes a few hours with a dremel... but it can be done.
