K&N HHR SS AirCharger 63-3069 kit install report…
cause its #1 un-necessary and #2 looks cheap. When I get mine, if anyone wishes to purchase the K&N cover, I will discuss terms with them for it. I just want to make SURE that I dont need it before I sell it, but I'll post it here when I do decide to get rid of it
Does the cover enhance the performance?
I believe that the kit has good value in regard to performance enhancement. I'm not sure if the cover enhances the performance. From an engineering perspective, K&N can keep this piece (unless it can be proved as an integral part of the airflow system, but I don't think so) and bring down the price of the kit a little.
The appearance of the stock cover never really bothered me, but for those who do not like it, perhaps a paint job with high heat paint and a K&N sticker (if it could withstand the heat) would be more cost effective than a redundant part of the K&N kit.

Got my kit today. Not installed but I will keep the group posted. As a result I'm selling the air filter recieved with the kit (already running the filter). Link is below....
