Need advice on oil service
I use Pennzoil Platinum mixed with 1 Qt of Rotella synthetic to pick up a little zinc that has been banned from SM grade oil. Mobil 1 is good oil, but PP is a group IV base stock and is returning better UOA's from people who like spending money on that sort of thing.
The "Zinc" issue is widely misundersood and surrounded by urban myth.
Zinc--or, more properly "zinc dialkyldithiophosphate" (ZDDP or ZDP)--has not been banned. In fact, it is still used in virtually all engine oils sold today. In API SL/SM oils it has been mandated less, with the specification for ZDP now 600-800 ppm. There are many other products--such as the aforementioned Shell Rotella--which have higher quantities. Specifically, Rotella-T runs about 1100PPM.
The "zinc" issue is irrelevant to the HHR, anyway, because it affects only OHV engines with flat tappet camshafts. The 2.0, 2.2 and 2.4 Ecotecs are all dual-overhead camshaft engines and DHOC valvetrains have far less load at the cam lobe/lifter interface than do OHV engines and, thus, require far less ZDP in the oil.
Both Mobil 1 and Pennzoil Platinum have Group IV base stock components. From a reliability/durability standpoint, there is little difference between the two when used in any HHR engine.
But, if the concern is an engine oil of ultimate performance, protection and quality, then oils with Group IV base stocks are not the preferred choice. You want an engine oil product with a Group V base stock (that means ester-based) such as what Red Line sells.
I use Red Line 10W30 in my HHR as well as in the engines of all my other vehicles.

reply to what? The poor guy was just concerned if the dealer put mobile 1 in his car when he had the oil changed not a class in how many parts per million of zinc dialkyldithiophosphate is present oil.
Nice to know. Maybe i can use it to smokescreen answering a question. Or not.
This has turned into a redline oil advertisement. Wonder if the purple stuff will work on that?
