For someone who asked, no instructions do not come with it. Just a spring, your receipt and religious flyer.

For some it might be daunting to go under the hood. It's on the backside and between the firewall and engine. Its connected to the tube running down to the turbo, ....need to reach for it. (it's not the cover on the right side of the engine, in plain view, that is the cam cover I believe)

Sorry, not too descriptive, been working on the other 2.0 turbo.....bringing it up to stage two.

I have a spring on order but I'm still not sure on if I will install it??? I've been researching the BOV spring topics the last couple of days, There lots of posts lately about this spring on the cobalt and soltice forums. Talks about sound and crispness, but what is that. I can't seem to find any info on actual perfromance gains. My worry is increasing the valves tension and increasing the condition of Turbo stall/surge which can wear out the turbo's bearings. But having the stage upgrade installed is the BOV leaking off boost due to the higher boost pressures? My car is a daily driver so I want the reliability but I also want all the boost I upgraded for.

What to do - What to do?

I did find this which is a good description of the turbo system which is nice for people like myself which are new to turbo cars.

I hope this link is OK to post. This is the most detailed description of the BOV spring tension setting I found - very good info on this topic.

"As you know, the purpose of a BOV is to make that cool "PSSSSHHHH" sound when you let off the accelerator. The secondary purpose is to prevent waves of high pressure from slamming into the compressor wheel on your turbo when your throttle plate slams shut, extending turbo longevity."

I love how the describe the primary purpose of the BOV is the sound it makes and secondary purpose is what its there for in the first place lol.
