So I ordered the Stage 1 kit......

Ordered it from the Chevy dealer I used to work at in our auto mall. $500.00.....free installation.
Should be here in a week then I will have it done.
So what can I expect as far as boost? How much more will I see with an automatic?

Dang, that's a good deal. I guess membership has its privileges. Mine goes in tomorrow for the install, along with the brake fix.

Yeah,I worked for GM for 23 years but things are really shaky right now with GM,especially our Chevy store so I transferred to our Acura store.....much busier and more secure.
But I am still a GM guy at heart.

My '09 auto saw a change from max of 15psi to 20+psi. Hit 25+ often. Of course elevation and climate will factor for each person. I also saw a significant mpg increase of 3mpgs. I do mostly highway driving each day (80 miles rnd trip) The vehicle will turn over the tires in each gear easily now, especially when rolling accelerations are done.

For spirited fun under 50mph.....drop into 1 (3rd for the tranny). Its a blast.

At which dealer will you have this installed? I've been looking for a dealer to buy and install the stage kit close to NJ or in NJ, but nobody responds or they don't know what it is. Please let me know how it goes !!

Curry Chevrolet in Scarsdale,NY. I worked there for 23 years in parts. The tech(who is my friend) is an "A" tech who is into performance....however they have never done one yet.I am hoping it goes well. GM just put these kits on backorder once again so I have to wait a few weeks to get it. Keep in mind though I am getting employee price because we are an automall and I now work for our Acura store across the street.....

Fulton in Middletown, NY moves a good amount of Corvettes, Cobalt SSs and HHR SSs. They took this request as old hat and have a firm, fixed price for parts and labor, all inclusive of $792.00. Pretty steep, but any problems that are incurred are their problems. At least the rape is not a surprise at the end.

I could get the kit from the dealer in PA for just over $500, but is scares the s**t out of me to let someone "experiment" and "learn on my SS to see how to put it in.
I wonder if $140 - $150 (the extra amount I'd save going the cheap route) is too much for an "insurance policy" (if I go with someone I know can do it hands down)?

The nearest certified GMPP dealer is 23 miles away. GMPP dealers have trained techs for GMPP installs. You might try them.
