In defense of the Trifecta tune: I have had the Trifecta dual/stealth tune in my 09 auto SS, since late 09, and I have never had a problem, or found any glitches in the tune. I don't abuse my SS, but it does gets run hard, and often at times, and I have had zero problems with it. I have as much power as I can hook up, and at times more than I can hook, so any more would be a waste, as far as a DD. My thinking is, if you can't hook it, you're just spinning your wheels, and more often than not, you'll get beat like a drum.
I've been around this game long enough, to have seen many times, guys go overboard, throwing more power in a car, that they can hook up or use, and that ends up ,times causing them grief, because of broken parts, and false hopes of going fast. If you can't hook the power you're making, your going backwards.
My mods are few: Trifecta tune-modded hood scoop fed CAI-Very large AEM/Fram filter-very low restriction muffler, and stock charge piping, intercooler-ect., and like I said, I'm making all the power the car can handle.
I'm more that satified with the Trifecta tune.
Thats my story, and I'm sticking to it. "Moon"

Can I actually buy a 'real' tire for my 18s that I can't burn in 1st gear with the torque at 100% instead of gradually ramped in?

Thumbs up Trifecta Economy Tune

I recently installed Trifecta's Economy "Canned" tune in my 2008 HHR SS (completely stock). The improvements in "mild" version really improve daily driving, while the "performance" setting is about all you would want in the stock configuration for an HHR.

I rarely, if ever, race and have no plans to upgrade the turbocharger and associated parts so this was the right option for me.

On a related note, when I installed the tune, it undid the brake pump tsb flash I had done last summer. Steven at WOT Tuning and Vince had an updated flash for me within a couple hours (on a Saturday). Great customer service.

I am thinking about getting the Trifecta "canned" tune, but I have a few questions, I have emailed Trifecta twice over 3 weeks ago, no response, you can't call them, so maybe someone can answer my questions. Their webside does not give much info. Does the tune come with a mild and a performance version? Does the mild version improve gas mileage. My 2008 SS is stock except for a catless down pipe and a K&N filter. It is still under the power train warranty for another 1 1/2 years, how do you uninstall and put it back to stock?

Stay away from trifecta if you have an auto. Go superchips or Hptuners with somebody who knows what there doing. The superchips tranny and boost increase work great on a stock auto and no boost inconsistancy. One you go above 20 psi it is very difficult on the auto to get consistant power/ boost.
