Good point, that is the way I understood it.
I am not sure if Bill is still out there, but maybe he may chime in and clear this up?

Chevy Mgr, did I get that wrong?

Your extended warranty is not affected but I don't know that they will cover the sensors.

To tell everyone the truth I don't know how to parts warranty the sensors at all yet, since the sensors don't have GM part numbers on them. The kit has a GM part number but the sensors have bosch part numbers on the box, so my question to GM is going to be how do I get just one sensor if it fails?

The only time an accessory is tagged on to the 3/36 factory warranty is when it is installed at the time of the sale of the vehicle and was included in the contract on that vehicle sale. But there is still the issue I stated in post 12 of how the dealer is even going to get a single sensor if it fails.

Other than that it gets the 12/12 warranty as long as a GM dealer installs it.

If the accessory is purchased by a customer and NOT installed by a GM dealership it gets a 12 month warranty, which sometimes is better if the vehicle is driven more than 12,000 miles a year.

But the drivetrain warranty is not effected?

Am I correct in thinking that as long as a GM dealer installed the stage 1 kit that the 5 year power train warranty is not voided?

Your thinking is correct.

So now we're clear on the confusion here, the warranty ChevyMgr was referring to is the parts/ install warranty, whereas everyone else seems to be referring to the vehicle warranty. As I am understanding, the vehicle warranty is not changed in any way, the only warranty that falls under the 12mo/12k mi warranty is the kit parts and installation.

Wow, this post has generated a lot more interest than I thought it would. Just to be clear...if I were to buy a HHR SS and at the same time include the Stage I kit with the purchase the kit would be warranted for 3yr/36,000 miles.

Yes that is correct unless your vehicle has the 100,000 powertrain warranty then it is warranted for 100,000 miles!
