You can get 27lbs, with trifecta, it's fun, fun, fun. I agree with Officer, believe me there is still plenty to do to them. I've had mine a year and a couple months, still not done.

IDK my wife took me to the local nissan dealership and we qualify for a car loan on a 2012 370Z. Very tempting but roughly 775 a month for car and insurance.

The hot exhaust is directed on to one side of a twin fan rotating assembly with both sides seperated from one another. The hot exhaust does not get directed to the motor. There is hot air being fed to the motor but it is hot due to the act of compressing the air with some minor influence from the hot metal of the turbo itself. This same hot air due to compression also happens from superchargers thus the need for some type of intercooling between the charger and the motor. And while cold air and fuel does infact combust better then hot air, when you FORCE MORE air (and inturn add more fuel) into the enigine then the engine could pull/draw in by itself you get more power.

The engine doesn't pull or draw with a turbo. The turbo is pushing air into the cylinders. Thats why your vacuum lines no longer have vacuum during boost.

Like with my eclipse the MAF sensor location needs to be before the TB and not clear out by the air filter. With this car I think it would be the same.

Does the LS or LT ECU/PCM even "see" boost?

And what turbo would allow a smooth power band? Like with the Mazda3 the stock turbo can give it a little jerk going from 0-100 full throttle.

Other things is total volume of the IC piping from turbo to TB. Does BOV need to be recirculating or can it be open? Can the HHR handle more PSI with lowering compressing or is the bottom end going to be maxed with stock pistons.

FWIW the maf can be used in either blow thru like you had it on your 03 Eclipse or draw thru like they were stock on the 1g and 2g's. Blow thru will allow you to run your BOV (mounting it before the maf) to atmosphere since all air calcs would be done after the BOV.

Keep in mind that wider wheels on the rear, combined with directional tires means you can't rotate your tires. Plan on buying a bunch if you drive one of these aggressively... It goes for C5 and C6 Corvettes, too, so I'm not just picking on furrin' cars.

BTW, the HHR SS has a pretty smooth power band for a turbo car... I left a pretty well-modded Saabaru (Saab 92X built by Subaru) for mine. Just because I could (and did) build it into a near-race car didn't mean it was wiser or cheaper to do so.

Thinking about it for awhile I decided getting a 370Z isn't worth it. In a few years my son will hopefully be into trains and we can work on a HO scale train set together among other things for him.

So anyone ever use a 16g evo 3 turbo on a HHR or what is a decent turbo for an 08 LS? 10psi max and maybe Wide lope cams.

Got to take the HHR to a track today to find top speed. Sadly the RPMs is nearly maxed out at 102MPH. No vibration of any kind.

FWIW. The regular HHR's have a speed limiter. The SS's do not.
