performance chip(or lack thereof!)

I thought I'd give it a try since all my performance experience comes from carburated small and big block chevy's. I think I'll stick with old school power after ordering the gforce chip for my 2010 hhr...took forever to get here(yesterday), now I find this online today:

8. G-Force Performance Chip - GforceChips, GFchips.com Reviews

Ordering Process: 1/5
Shipping Speed: 1/5
Customer Service: 1/5
Return Policy: 1/5
Average HP and Torque Gain: 1/5 (For each vehicle tested we noticed a loss of 8-15 HP)
Average MPG Gain: 1/5 (We notice huge losses in MPG. These varied from 3-10 MPG.)
Cost of product: $69.00
NOTE: We did notice an engine knock after using this chip. We do not recommend this chip.

wish I saw this before I ordered. back in the box it goes. thought I'd pass on the heads up.

Sorry for your Snake Oil mistake. Tune it, chips are 1990's. The only ones I ever saw work were in the Fox Body Mustangs, and they maybe got 20hp on a good day.

Cool

snake oil is right! at least I found the review before I wasted my time installing it...I think I'll stick with hot rods and just enjoy the hhr as a driver.for now.

Danger, where did you find the power performance review.....what site?

Some of the sites are set up by competitors and remarkably rate their own chip very highly.

But I am NOT in favor of "'CHIPS". If you're after performance, talk with Trifecta.....more than your chip cost, but reasonable for the results.

Hey Snoopy, this is the website where I found the review. They review quite a few and dont seem to sell any that I could see. Maybe I missed something.

trifecta tune seems like the way to go! thanks!

That site is the one I figured you used.

I believe, as well as several other members, that "evaluation" site is owned by SLR Performance Chips. As least it is greatly supported by them. Notice their ad appears on every page. And of course, they rate SLR the best of the chips.

Oh, and check with forum member, TomsHHR, for the Trifecta Tune ( his vendor web site link does not seem to be working).

Maybe that's where the MPG improvement comes from.... Lighter wallet = less over all weight.
