YO Ern.....

I was wondering when you would jump in and mention that Apparently some people have trouble with MISunderstanding what they read

And, we (the forum members) have been through this discussion .....modify, don't modify....engine changes, no engine changes..... before. Why does it need to be rehashed.

While I don't agree with a lot of the "things" members are doing to their car...,IT'S THEIRS. THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT, and no approval or explanation from or to anyone is necessary.

Hmm... I understood Ern to be referring to his Cobalt blowing up, not his HHR. Anyhow, sure anyone can do whatever they want to their brand new warrantied vehicle, they just need to be aware of the potential risks. That's all I was trying to convey. One thing is for sure, if you put a supercharger on an HHR it will void the entire powertrain warranty from the word go.

Just get an SS. If you can afford the mods, you can afford a new car....and for your 5000, youll get more than just a lot of WAY TOO HOT AIR. The sc' cobalt is toast. Let it die in peace..... Or wait, just get a tc cobalt....now you have no excuse to go down this expensive, and in the end, slow dissapointing raod in an HHr.

i dont know why but ive always liked superchargers better than turbos. Correct me if i am wrong but from my experience there is not the lag you feel with turbos with superchargers.

i agree with you...The SS is designed to go that fast....With the stage kits coming out this fall the SS will be capable of over 350 hp.... so it will definately go over 180 mph....I mean stock it does 165 with the manual tranny... mine right now is stock and i love it....I go down 394 in minnesota everyday and play with kids in there little decked out hondas lol....but yes a corvette would be nice to have!!!!

Usually if you put on the right diverter valve you will not have any lag....Yes the stock diverter on the SS wastes the air like a BOV would....i recently put a Forged diverter on my brothers 07 jetta and it makes a difference...When you shift instead of blowing the air out of your induction system out under the hood like a blow off valve you connect an air line back up in front of the inlet for the turbo so it forces all the air back into the induction system....This way you have power right after you shift.... and you dont have to wait for the turbo to spool when reaccelerating in gear....

I've heard 148-155mph max. I have confirmed 132+ on a flat stretch with tach to spare. Max mph is not a linear relationship to horse power as is confirmed by your fuel economy drop off from 55-80mph.
So 180?? I think not with 350hp..lol

Cosider the c5 vette in my dads garage. 350 hp, 2.87 5 speed gear ratio, 170ish max with a much better drag coefficient
