For those of us north of the border, looks like about $480 canadian using a cross border shopping service. If only this had come up a year ago with the dollar on par.
Still a decent price for what it is.

I'm hoping it will sound exactly as I want it too, then it will be perfect and you are right, for a high grade stainless cat back it is then a great price.

Well it's on, I just finished took it for a test drive and it sounded good. Transmission shifts better, rpms stay lower, everything good!

Then I decided to take it on the free way and back to see how it sounds and well...

It is too much drone, any slight incline produces drone, but the big hill freeway I drive home everyday is torture.

Going down the free way with foot off of the pedal produces acceptable drone, almost can't hear it, put your foot slightly on the pedal it is dead silent. Reach an incline you now have the volume control to a subwoofer at your foot.

Any family trips that I would have liked to take my car on, are now the one to avoid.

What do I do, I keep waisting money on a muffler, a muffler shop, and now a cat back.

It sounds better overall then the dynomax muffler, but the drone is my problem.

Please advise
Thank you.

P.S.
I did not disconnect the battery yet.

Well that just sucks. Short of going back to a stock set up, I'm not going to try to recommend anything.

I tried the muffler delete on my SS and wound up with the dreaded drone. Put a Flowmaster on my stock system and have been happy and droneless with it.
Since mine is a SS and you have a LT, can't say if my type setup would work for you.

It says gmpp all over the system even in the paperwork, all over the internet borla gets good reviews for not having drone compared to other systems, why would a dealer part create drone, no one would buy it.

I don't know what to do???

Stock muffler = no drone, bad flow, bad muffled air sound

Dynomax super turbo muffler = drone, okay sound.

Borla factory upgrade cat back = drone, nice sound.

I haven't tried the flowmaster sp2 shorties or the SS stock muffler but I keep throwing money away.

I can't believe nobody has a nice muffler on an HHR 2.4 with no drone.

I mean what does one do, if they lose there muffler on the freeway, or it rusts out and they need to change it?

Look for a stock muffler, that they probably don't even make anymore, or deal with all other droning mufflers available as a replacement.

What is wrong with this car!!!

All other cars are stock quiet with an aftermarket quiet muffler.

This car was louder than the borla cat back with a super quiet dynomax super turbo, matter of fact since I still had it, I put it on my uncles 6 cylinder jeep and it is just as quiet as his stock muffler was, and that car was built in 1989 and has more than 200,000miles on it.

How is a 6 cylinder car quieter than a 4 cylinder car with the same muffler???

And the muffler is located in the middle of his car, which would have made it louder than one located at the back, but it was such a quiet muffler there was no difference in sound being installed in the center.

Maybe with a computer reset and driving it for a week will configure the proper air fuel mixture and some magic will happen, but probably not.

The worst part is, the only way to remove the stock exhaust was to cut it, so I would have to pay to get that put back on, which I can't right now.

I plan on keeping this car for ever, I see it as a very cool unique car that I see becoming a classic. But, I want that cool classic car sound, not Honda bass box, no offense to people with Hondas, but you know what I mean.

And this is from borla's website!

"Furthermore, it is the low frequency range that has energy (the sound you can feel inside the car); big pipes increase the low frequencies, making an uncomfortable roaring or droning sound. A BORLA® exhaust system, on the other hand, is designed for less restriction, keeping the velocity and frequency high so the main sound is behind the tailpipe."
